Chase The Trip
Chapter One
Cold air blows in the bottom of a window, as four boys were in the restroom.
“This is going to be legendary.” said Niko, who was pouring toilet water into a balloon.
“You got that right. It’ll teach him a lesson to never mess with us.” Said Riko, crossing his arms, leaning on the wall. While looking out the window with Jack waiting for their prey.
Daven stacked the balloons in his bag as Niko made more balloons.
“You know what else would be good?” said Daven, pulled out his straw from a chocolate milk box, pouring it into the balloon making it reek. All of the boys chackled with excitement.
“Hurry up, you guys. His here.” said Jack, jumping and waving his hands at the gang behind him.
The four boys stood outside the restroom as they acted as if they hadn’t planned to bully Mark.
The bell rang and Mark came out of his classroom with his head down, as he took a turn to the hallway. He raised his eyebrow with wide eyes and knew what was up as soon as he saw Daven and friends. He immediately hid behind the wall, as the gang was far ahead in the hallway. They couldn’t see him, thankfully.
Mark knew for a fact that they hated him and enjoyed bullying him ever since the day he stopped their prank on the substitute teacher.
Mark had to figure out a way to go home or else he’d be splashed wet and go home with an ugly purple bruised eye.
Mrs Cruise, pulling a cart full of library books, saw the boys standing outside the restroom, throwing their water balloons up and down.
“Hi, boys. Hope you behave yourselves.” She said, walking past them in the hallway.
The gang quickly hid the balloons behind their backs.
“Yes, Mrs.” replied the boys, except one of them didn’t.
Jack replied late. Saying, “Ya, good day to you too, Mrs.”
“Shut up!” Said Riko. Hitting Jack on the head, making his hat fall off.
The boys got impatient and Daven got suspicious, as they waited more than they should have.
“So, Jack. Where is he?” said Riko, looking down at Jack, since he was 3 feet taller than him.
“He’s supposed to come any minute by now.” Said Jack, as all the boys looked at the hallway, which went on for miles. Waiting for Mark to appear.
Something moved in the corner of Daven’s eye. He faced the right side of the hallway, as all other boys were still looking straight at the other side of the hallway. Mark crawled behind Mrs Cruise’s Library cart before she walked past the four boys however, Daven caught up to Mark’s idea when Mark’s back and butt poked out of the cart.
“I found him. ” said Daven with an evil smirk. Proud of himself.
All other boys followed Daven’s eyes at Mark however, Jack couldn’t see. His hat was down, covering his eyes. Jack tried to see, but he went on his tiptoes, since other boys were blocking the view.
“Where? I want to see.” said Jack, whining. Riko got annoyed with Jack.
“Right there. You doofus. He’s crawling through the corridor.” said Riko, pulling Jack’s hat up.
“So he thought he could get away from us. GET HIM!” said Daven.
Mark bolted out of the corridor, as boys rushed towards him.
Outside school, the boy threw water balloons at him, dodging them while running.
“AOoow.” said Jack, howling like a wolf. He almost slipped on the snowy ground. Running out of the parking lot outside the school, into the woods as boys chased him.
“We’re gonna get you!” Said Daven
Out of breath, Mark took one last breath as he slipped and tumbled down the hill of the forest. The four boys looked downhill, rolling in the snow. All the boys stopped in shock.
They heard a car coming along.
“What were you boys doing there?” said the old man in a police uniform.
“Nothing Sheriff, just playing tag.” said Daven, knowing that if they told what happened to Mark, it would lead to misunderstanding.
“Listen boys, read the sign next time. I don’t want to see near this forest again.” said the Sheriff with a southern accent, as he pointed at the sign that said ‘Hunters Only’.
“Yes, sir.” said the boys and ran back home. As Mark was left there in the woods unconscious.
“Save us.” said tiny voices as green branches wrapped around Mark’s arms and the trees surrounded him, bowing to him. “WAKE UP!” shouted a woman’s voice.
Mark opened his eyes, rain dripping on his face. The sky was dark and the moon was up. The tiny voice was just a dream however, the woman’s voice, Mark was unsure if it was real or just his concussion.
Lying on the ground on top of the snow with echoing trees surrounding it everywhere. Something started to sting and burn on his forehead as he stood up.
“Eh” from the pain.
Blood drizzled from the side of his head down to his neck. Putting his palms on it. The open wound pinched in pain again, as he saw blood all over his hand.
Looking up at the hill he fell from. Mark took his steps as he realized he had scraped his knee as well. He climbed up the hill gently, finding a bag hanging on a tree.
